A historic building helps meet the elevated need for preschools in Silicon Valley

Sunflower Child Development Center project involved remodeling three buildings, one a historic landmark, into classrooms to accommodate 40 children. The historic building was the base of a water tower dating from the early 1900s that we converted into a classroom. TOPA worked closely with the city and the community to get approval for this project. Open neighborhood meetings generated ideas and goodwill, and the team incorporated solutions to the community concerns about pick/drop traffic patterns, lighting, and soundproofing into the final designs.
